CIGI Book on the Reconstruction Effort in Haiti to be launched in Miami

Americas Society/Council of the Americas, the City of Miami and Miami Dade College will be hosting a policy discussion on "What's Next for Haiti?" and how best to move forward in terms of governance, investment and development. The event will take place on September 12, 2011, at Miami Dade College. Panelists will address the role of the international community and opportunities to work effectively with the new Martelly administration. Ambassador Jorge Heine will also present findings from his recent book Fixing Haiti: MINUSTAH and Beyond (United Nations University Press, 2011), and copies will be for sale at the program.

Fixing Haiti: MINUSTAH and Beyond analyzes Haiti’s struggles, the performance of the United Nations and the role of other key hemispheric actors in helping Haiti both before and after the January 2010 earthquake.

The book is co-edited by Dr. Heine and Dr. Andrew S. Thompson.
