Background
I graduated with an Hons. B.A. from the University of Toronto. There I completed a double major in Peace and Conflict Studies and History with a minor in Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations. I completed my M.A. in Political Science at the University of Waterloo in 2009 where I focused the majority of my research on democratic processes, human rights and security concerns in the Middle East.
I'm looking forward to the opportunity to pursue research at the doctoral level where I plan to focus my studies on the internationalization of regional security threats in the Middle East. My research interests are mostly centred on the Middle East region, but thematically my intersets include security policies and militarization, the politics of nuclear power, the role of war in state building and governance of ethnic conflict, post-war conflict resolution, and democratic processes.
