Background
Helena left Namibia to attend the United World College in Hong Kong. Following this she attended College of the Atlantic, Maine (USA) whre she received her B.A. in Human Ecology, with a focus on international development. She did internships with the UN Development Programme in Fiji and CHF International in Washington, D.C.
After COA, she worked as a Junior Fellow at Bread for the World, Washington D.C. Bread's grassroots advocacy work to advance legislation on hunger and poverty was extremely rewarding and urged Helena to learn more about legislative work and governance. She plans to focus her studies on issues of food governance, food security and grassroots advocacy work in Sub-Sahara Africa.
