Background
Vanessa received her B. Soc. Sci (Hons.) in Conflict Studies and Human Rights at the University of Ottawa. During her studies, Vanessa completed a research-based internship with a local civil society organization in Dhaka, Bangladesh where she focused on researching the security implications of climate change in the region.
While working with two national non-profit organizations, Vanessa has done extensive research on non-profit labour force issues in Canada. Between degrees she completed an internship with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Sub-Regional Office for the Pacific in Suva, Fiji.
As a Junior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, Vanessa is part of the graduate-student policy team researching ideational conflict.
