You are invited to apply to one of the four graduate programs offered by Wilfrid Laurier University (Laurier) and the University of Waterloo (UW) based at the Balsillie School.
Emphasizing small class sizes and close individual contact with faculty, up to 12 doctoral students are admitted each year to the joint Laurier/UW PhD in Global Governance Program, and each of the Masters programs (MAGG, MDP and MIPP) has a cohort size of fewer than 25 students.
The application portals for the Wilfrid Laurier University Master in International Public Policy (MIPP), PhD in Global Governance, and the University of Waterloo Master of Development Practice (MDP), are now open for the September 2027 intake.
The University of Waterloo application portal for the Master of Arts in Global Governance (MAGG) will open on October 9.
International applicants: Due to our funding model, the Global Governance PhD program can only admit 1 to 2 international students for the 2027-2028 academic year, and the program typically receives 30 to 40 applications from international candidates each admissions cycle. International candidates should contact Andrew Thompson to determine their eligibility prior to submitting their applications.
