The CIGI Graduate Fellowship (CGF) Symposium is the final component of the CGF program, which is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain mentorship and guidance from senior scholars and policy practitioners, as they advance their own policy research and writing skills. Working under the direction of the project leader, each CIGI Graduate Fellow is responsible for conducting intensive research on a sub-area of a research project within one of CIGI’s program areas or a BSIA Collaborative Research project. The program requires students to engage in both independent and collective research to prepare two original outputs: an independent research paper, and a jointly written briefing note on the collective policy findings of their research. On June 23rd, the students will be traveling to Ottawa to present their briefing notes to officials at Global Affairs Canada.
