International Humanitarian Law: Putting People First

The Canadian Red Cross, in partnership with the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Conrad Grebel University College (University of Waterloo), Wilfrid Laurier University and Project Ploughshares, is hosting this International Humanitarian Law Conference. Through panel discussions, we will be exploring the role that International Humanitarian Law plays in dealing with contemporary challenges to the protection of people during periods of armed conflict. This conference brings together experts in the field, academics, practitioners and representatives from the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement.
