Laurier Centre for Sustainable Food Systems and the UNESCO Chair on Food, Biodiversity, and Sustainability Studies

C. Jane Clause completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto, and a Master of Arts in Communications & Media Studies at Carleton University. She completed her thesis research on the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) in Canada, focusing on knowledge-sharing and discursive practices among key stakeholders affiliated with the program. Her work was informed by many years’ experience in the agricultural sector.

Jane has more recently been involved in course development and teaching within the food studies field. Her materials focus on issues of Indigenous food sovereignty, particularly themes around Indigenous agricultural revitalization, Indigenous food activism, and settler-Indigenous relations. Jane is a registered band member of Six Nations of the Grand River.
