Hadithii Hadithii: Expressions of Colour

May 14, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Open to BSIA students, faculty, staff and fellows only.
The BSIA Anti-oppression and Equity Committee (AOEC) is pleased to present this student-led initiative which will bring together people of colour within our community to share their “stories”.

Suggested by MAGG AOEC Rep. Ashley Mungai, “Hadithii” is a Swahili word that translates to “story” in English, and is a word used in succession to express the desire for a story to be told. Storytelling can be an extremely powerful platform for sharing and expressing culture. At this event, storytellers will share stories of personal experiences to cultural expressions through a diversity of mediums.

The AOEC invites all BSIA community members to attend this event if they can, as it is important for the presenters (as well as the AOEC) that the voices of our storytellers are heard and that we specifically acknowledge the importance of listening to their experiences.
