Heather Whiteside

Heather Whiteside is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Waterloo. Heather studies the political economy of the state. She is currently working on grant-funded projects related to colonial era joint-stock royal charter companies in British North America (SSHRC Insight Development Grant) and public enterprise solutions for post-pandemic recoveries (SSHRC Insight Grant). In 2020, she received an Arts Award for Excellence in Research; in 2017, she received an Outstanding Performance Award.

Heather has published six books and twenty articles in venues such as Canadian Public Administration, Economic Geography, Environment and Planning A, Review of International Political Economy, and Studies in Political Economy.
