Irene Spagna embarked on her PhD in Global Governance in 2012, focusing on Global Political Economy.
Her research interests include the political economy of financial regulation and the role of private business actors in shaping global governance. Her PhD project examines the regulation of OTC derivatives after the Global Financial Crisis.
Irene has previous work experience in the financial sector. Prior to serving as a consultant for a financial advisory in Switzerland, she worked for one of the largest global banking and financial services company in Germany. Her professional experience also includes work with an international organization and the public sector.
