Khurram Shamim recently graduated York University with an Honours degree in Political Science and a Certificate in Public Administration and Law. During his undergrad, Khurram focused on courses related to global affairs primarily on the regions of the Middle East and Europe. His certificate in public administration also benefited him with a strong understanding of the role that the public service plays in the development and progress of a society.
Khurram hopes to expand on his knowledge of international affairs by focusing on global development and global security in the international scope. The main focus in global development will be on how developing nations can create better economic and social results for themselves in the globalized world. The focus in global security will be primarily on how nations have attempted to counter the impacts of terrorism, but what the repercussions of these policies have been and changes that should be implemented to them.
Khurram has previously worked as a Canada 150 intern with the Mosaic Institute and worked in the summer with the Canada Border Services Agency through the FSWEP program.
