Dr. Mark Sedra appointed President and Research Director of the Canadian International Council

The BSIA warmly congratulates faculty member Dr. Mark Sedra on his recent appointment as President and Research Director of the Canadian International Council (CIC), effective March 1.

This appointment comes at a pivotal time for the CIC, as they embark on expanding their research interests, growing their branches across the country, and engaging Canadians in global issues.

Mark holds a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto, an MSc in the History of International Relations from the London School of Economic (LSE) and a PhD in Political Science from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. He has been a faculty member at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, through the University of Waterloo, since the School opened in 2011.
