Becca Deschamps coordinates the Masters of Global Governance and PhD in Global Governance programs, supporting students and faculty within the Balsillie School of International Affairs and the University of Waterloo.
Becca earned a BA from the University of Waterloo in International Development and has pursued a career of supporting and advocating for students and youth. She began her career in Malawi where she worked for several NGOs as a Youth Engagement Officer. Here, she assisted with the coordination of multiple campaigns focusing on youth health and gender-based violence. Upon returning to Ontario Becca earned a position with OneRoof Youth Services as a Prevention and Diversion Worker, where she supported homeless youth in KW find safe and stable housing in the community.
Becca has aspired to work in academia since working in an administrative role with Renison University College while still an undergraduate student. She returned to the University of Waterloo in 2022 as the Undergraduate Advisor and Coordinator for the Mechatronics Engineering program before arriving to the Balsillie School of International Affairs.
