Benedikt is an exchange student from the University of Konstanz where he studies Politics and Public Administration with a focus on International Administration and Conflict Management and Methods of the Social Sciences. In 2020 Benedikt graduated from the University of Konstanz with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics and Public Administration. In his Bachelor thesis, he analyzed the effects of severe events in the Syrian Civil War on international stock markets. During his undergraduate studies, Benedikt participated in an exchange with the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.
The main research interests of Benedikt include conflict studies, political economy, post-conflict development, democratization studies as well as global development. Moreover, he is interested in quantitative research methods especially regarding the forecast of violent conflicts based on big data. During his studies at the Balsillie School of International Affairs Benedikt hopes to profit from the excellent conditions and deepen his knowledge in development governance and governance of the global economy, among others. After his time in Waterloo Benedikt returns to Germany to write his thesis and finish his Master degree.
