Emily Vance has worked in higher education since 2016 after graduating from the University of Guelph with a BA in Psychology. She has worked in a variety of areas including Orientation programming, leading a Student Union, and working as a Liaison Office recruiting prospective students throughout Ontario. Most recently she worked at ApplyBoard Inc., a start-up tech company in Kitchener that strived to make higher education more accessible for international students. Throughout her professional life, she has strived to create positive experiences for students and is excited to get the chance to work with the University of Waterloo.
Outside of her professional life, Emily is involved in the comedy scene in Guelph as a performer and as a member of the Guelph Comedy Festival Board. She is also working to complete her MEd, Student Affairs degree with Wilfrid Laurier University where she has focused primarily on the experiences of international students.
