Photo of Samuel Vargas

Samuel Vargas completed his undergraduate degree at York University in Honours Disaster and Emergency Management. During Samuel’s time at York, he became interested in analyzing how Canadian and Ontario governments applied emergency management functions to better prevent, prepare, respond and recover from natural and man-made emergencies.

Samuel has worked for the City of Vaughan and the Region of Peel and has helped create emergency plans, respond to nationally recognized emergencies and has educated staff members and members of the general public on community hazards.

In hopes to become a more well-rounded and comprehensive emergency manager, Samuel is prepared and excited to learn more about other relevant areas of expertise such as public-sector economics, policy analysis, statistical research tools and international relations and globalization.
