Before joining the IMRC, Sean Lockwood was a Research Facilitator in the Office of Research Services at Laurier. Prior to that, he was a Proposal Support/Liaison Officer in the Office of Research Services at the University of New Brunswick, and a faculty member at universities in Canada (Trent) and Turkey (Boğaziçi, Bahçeşehir). He also spent many years as an administrator and researcher on archaeological projects in Turkey.

Sean earned his PhD in Classics (in the Program in Classical Archaeology) from the University of Cincinnati, his MA in Classics from McMaster University, and his BA (Hons.) in Classics from Laurier.
