Sonya Ouertani is taking part in the Master of Arts in Global Governance program at the Balsillie School of International Affairs as an exchange student. She is studying International Administration and Conflict Management at the University of Konstanz, Germany. Sonya holds a Bachelor of Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz. During her Bachelor, Sonya spent one year at Sciences Po Paris.

Her academic research and interest focus mainly on International Administration of Aid Interventions and Conflict Management. Sonya is interested in how bureaucratic processes and dynamics as well as local political, socio-economic and logistical conditions affect international aid and conflict interventions in terms of effective and need-oriented planning, allocation, implementation and evaluation. Therefore, she interned at different German governmental and international organizations in this working context in Thailand, Burundi, Jordan, Macedonia and Pakistan.

Sonya is looking forward to experiencing an additional academic way and student life at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo.
