Photo of Sophie Wang

Sophie Wang graduated from Western University in 2016 with an Honors Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies – Specialization in Finance degree and a Minor in Geography.

Sophie is deeply passionate about the intersection of neoliberalism and humanitarian aid. She has worked in marketing, research, and business development roles in the private and non-profit sectors. More recently, she spent time working in a multidisciplinary team on a grassroots development project in Kenya, aiming to raise awareness for HIV-AIDS and empower local women through entrepreneurship. Her primary interest is on how international development policies best work in today’s globalizing and liberalizing economies and how key international institutions can assist in promoting social, political, and economic equity in the process of aid transfer.

After graduating from Western, Sophie spent most of her time travelling while working. She spends her spare time reading about radical ideas and attempting to teach herself Spanish.
