Two BSIA students move on to Global Finals of “Map the System” competition

The BSIA once again warmly congratulates PhD candidate Jeremy Wagner and recent MIPP graduate Zack Ahmed for being named one of four Canadian teams who will now compete in the Global Finals of the “Map the System” competition at Oxford University in the UK, representing Wilfrid Laurier University.

Their submission, “Inside the System, Outside the Law: The Informal Food Economy in Nairobi, Kenya”, had previously earned them a place in the National Finals of the 2022 Map the System Canada competition, which was held online from May 11th to May 13th. They were among 18 Canadian teams that had advanced from the campus finals.

The Global Finals competition will be held in-person in Oxford, UK on June 19th and will include teams from all over the world. The top three submissions will win cash prizes ranging from £2,000 – £4,000.

Good luck Jeremy and Zack!
