PhD in Global Governance

Ana Visan is a PhD student in Global Governance, with a focus on conflict and security. She is interested in how technology shapes forced migration and how it is used by various actors to influence mobility across border lines and within.

Ana completed a Master’s degree in Global Migration at University College London, where her interest in forced migration developed. Her dissertation focused on how asylum seekers and refugees from Syria used mobile phones to enhance mobility and agency in their journeys toward Europe.
