How It ‘Really’ Works…The Inside View of Canadian Foreign Policy

January 12, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Garry Keller has over 20 years of experience in Canadian politics, including as Chief of Staff to Canada’s Foreign Minister from 2011-2015. He has also served as Chief of Staff to the Government House Leader, Government Whip, Leader of the Opposition and as senior Parliamentary advisor to Prime Minister Harper.

Mr. Keller will shed light on how policy is actually made at the highest levels of the Government of Canada, including the relationship between the political level and the public service, as well as exploring how Harold MacMillian’s famous political maxim of “Events, dear boy, events” can ruin any leader’s day.
